Description
Five Nights at Sonic's is the first game of the FNaS series. It was originally developed to contribute to an inside joke between TheCyVap and some of his friends in school. The game can easily be summed up to a down-scaled clone of Five Nights at Freddy's 1 with minor changes in the gameplay. The game's graphics are all hand-drawn, separating it from most fangames of the time.

Story
FNaS1 is not the beginning of the timeline, but it narratively kicks the story off. You play as Knuckles the Echidna, working the night shift at Sonic's Hero Pizza Palace from 12AM to 6AM. Your goal is to survive against the clones, who mysteriously turn evil at night. During your time there, you receive valuable information from Luigi, the previous night guard, via pre-recorded phone messages. During the final phone call on your fourth night, Luigi gets jumpscared by one of the clones and seemingly disappears.
Knuckles works up to a seventh night in the restaurant, where he finally gets fired for not watching the Master Emerald, and supposedly leaving an odor in the building.
Trivia
-
Unlike the rest of the series, FNaS 1's graphics were originally drawn in Flipnote Studio for DSi, before being sent to a computer to be edited.
-
For some reason, the game runs at a resolution of 500x500, a square. This is the only game in the series to run at this resolution.
-
The main difference between FNaS1 and FNaF1 is Sonic's behavior, as Sonic attacks in the same way Yoshi/Chica does instead of mimicking Freddy.
-
The reason Mario characters were included was because TheCyVap didn't know how to draw other Sonic characters. This was reinforced by the fact that it made his version of FNaS unique from the other takes out there.
